On the nose: Caramel, grassy, grain. On the palate: Sweet cereal, green tea, baking spice, fruity. And the finish: Crisp, coca nibs, lingering stone fruit.
Aptly named “The Departure,” it represents a bold new direction for the distillery, known primarily for its rye whiskeys. Crafted from 100% malted barley, this expression stands apart from previous offerings, showcasing a different side of Hotaling & Co.'s expertise. As the latest addition to HIRSCH’s award-winning portfolio, The Departure continues the brand's commitment to creating distinctive, high-quality spirits. This whiskey is double distilled in small copper pot stills, aged for 6 years 9 months in both new char #3 and toasted American oak barrels. The result is a meticulously crafted whiskey that will captivate whiskey enthusiasts and collectors alike.
